
The latest statistics supplied by the Metropolitan Police show that there has been a substantial decrease in crime in the Angel Town Centre compared with the same period in 2007.

• Assault was down by 73%
• Affray was down by 10%
• Other Theft was down by 37%
• Theft from the person was down by 50%
The additional policing paid for by the BID has also contributed to a 42% increase in arrests for shoplifting and a 200% increase in the number of arrests for Possessing an Offensive Weapon. Overall, there has been an 18% decrease in all reported crime compared to July last year
